Games had been part of human existence from physical to virtual aspects. Through the years games continue to develop in order to fit to every generation. Today, people mostly the youth could not deny the fact how computer game development fascinates them. With these, together with the celebration of 100 years of Lasallian presence in the Philippines, College of Computer Studies in coordination with Association of Computer Enthusiasts, La Salle University brings youths' fascination to the higher level through the 3rd ICT Youth Convention with the theme "Re-inventing the Gaming Arena: The New Wave of the Next Centenary".
The said convention shall help to empower the youth to learn, use and create games that will allow them to heighten their intellectual ability and showcase their endowments and skills by supporting the environmental programs initiated by the De La Salle Philippines.The convention features unique presentations and demonstrations from educators and corporate presenters who will address critical education and technology issues, competitions which will showcase the talents and skills of IT enthusiasts and social events that will promote association and sharing of resources among IT community.
Computer games are not just for delight but they can also impart you to think critically and make quickand instant decisions. It offers the preference of mastery, both in the visual and intellectual aspect. As one of the IT people, one of the major concerns to game development is how will it affect the users. Usually, the most common players are the youth being the largest part of the populace. So from this alone, IT people should learn how to create games that will help others especially in educational purposes. With the help of the 3rd ICT Youth Convention, one can generate new understanding in creating games that will surely boost our minds and interests. Together one can take the lead in building a new facade of computer games that shall serve its purpose.
