Alumni Relations Director Meets Host Batches

As a major preparation for the 80th Year Culminating activity and the Grand Alumni Homecoming on December 26, Director for Alumni Relations and External Linkages Ralph Oscar C. Bagaboyboy held several meetings and gatherings with the host alumni batches to give them moral and technical support for the said big event. Last July 21, 2009, Bagaboyboy scheduled a meeting with the officers of High School Batch 1984 to discuss their initial plans in hosting this year’s homecoming. It was also followed last July 25 with the General meeting of the said batch and during the birthday party of their Batch President Eva Salas at the Mora Bora Beach Resort in Clarin, Misamis Occidental on the same date. Bagaboyboy also met with some members of the College Batch 1984 last September 18 to collaborate with them as co-host for the Grand Alumni Homecoming.

The Alumni Relations Office set a joint meeting with the host batches last October to flesh out details and functions of the people concerned in the preparation for the big day of the alumni. Several plans have been made already by the office to make the homecoming truly welcoming, festive and meaningful. Among those is the implementation of wide information drive throughout the city and nearby localities in the province, through radio advertisements in several media outlets, schools, municipal hall, city hall and provincial capitol, so the information about the activity will be made known to all through the help of our local government officials, alumni and community leaders.

According to Bagaboyboy, the 2009 Grand Alumni Homecoming will be a whole day and night affair so that visiting alumni could spend much of their time in the school with friends and former classmates. As initially planned, the affair will start with a Eucharistic Mass at 9:30 am at the Arts Center, followed the General Assembly meeting before noonbreak wherein the election of new set of officers for the Institutional Alumni Association will be held. In the afternoon, there will be Alumni Batch meetings and in the evening will be Awards Night for the Most Outstanding Alumni 2009 and the Induction of Officers for the newly-organized local alumni chapters, among other activities.

The Alumni Relations Director encourages all alumni to be present on this momentous occasion and renew acquaintances with everybody in the spirit of peace, understanding, love and friendship. Alumni are invited to log on to www.lsu.edu.ph to look for more alumni updates.
